Getting alongside

those in recovery

ABOUT US

Step Free Foundation is dedicated to helping individuals who are experiencing or are at risk of drug or alcohol addiction.

Grounded in the Christian faith, we strive to care for the whole person, offering support that encompasses both practical and spiritual aspects of recovery. Our mission is to walk alongside individuals on their journey to recovery.

One of the key elements of our support involves exploring the spiritual aspect of recovery. Many of our contacts benefit from the opportunity to discuss the concept of the "God of your understanding" as mentioned in Step 3 of Alcoholics Anonymous' 12-step program. This step encourages individuals to consider a higher power and its role in their recovery journey.

By introducing individuals to the Christian understanding of this higher power, we provide an additional layer of support that can be transformative. While the journey to step free from addiction ultimately lies in the hands of those seeking recovery, understanding and embracing "Step 3" can be a pivotal part of their path to healing.

Our team is composed of individuals from diverse backgrounds, united by their commitment to the Christian faith and a shared goal of coming alongside those in recovery. This includes:

  • Individuals in Long-Term Recovery: Team members who are themselves on a personal journey of recovery, bringing valuable insight and empathy to their support roles.
  • Christian Volunteers without Personal Addiction Backgrounds: Volunteers who, while not having personally faced drug or alcohol addiction themselves, bring a deep understanding of the Christian faith and a passion to get alongside those who have.

At Step Free Foundation, we believe in addressing the needs of individuals holistically. Our services are designed to aid recovery by providing both individual and group support:

  • Recovery Meetings: Regular gatherings where individuals can share their experiences, find encouragement and grow in their understanding of the Christian faith
  • Peer Support / One-on-One Conversations: Personal interactions with members of our team, offering tailored support and a listening ear.
